Japan’s answer to Hollywood’s Marvel comic blockbusters turns the superhero genre upside down: while superpowers are usually childhood dreams, in INUYASHIKI they are bestowed upon an office clerk on the verge of his pension. The wretched laughingstock becomes a transforming hero in the style of TETSUO-madness, who must stop an equally gifted, murderous boy. Shinsuke Sato, who was present at the /slash ½ 2016 with his film I AM A HERO, adapts the anime of the same name as a gleeful song of praise for geriatric resilience.
