KEEP AN EYE OUT

To call the cinematographic continent that Quentin Dupieux’s formed during the last decade weird, is about as accurate as reducing Duchamp to Dada. In his fast-paced, perfectly timed cop-comedy KEEP AN EYE OUT he forgoes the elliptic narration of his earlier films and instead opts for a concentration of time and space in a strange night in an even stranger police station: the francophone acting stars Benoît Poelvoorde and Grégoire Ludig are cop and robber in a consistently mad chamber play held in puke-brown tones that teaches the viewer how not to eat oysters, among other things.
