As the title suggests, this sweaty, dirty thriller is not a movie about the law-abiding 99% of bikers. The young Australian Stephen McCallum renovates 1960s biker exploitation films in his debut feature and makes it accessible for the “Sons of Anarchy” generation. Emotions run high in Copperheads Motorcycle Club when their leader Knuck is sent to the big house for three years, and the younger Paddo takes the wheel. It doesn’t take long for the mix of toxic masculinity, power hunger, and motor-romanticism to blow up.
